Common questions
What happens after my 14-day trial ends?
Your account moves to the Free plan automatically — no charge, no card needed. All your data (tasks, appointments, documents, medications, journals, audit trail) is fully preserved. You keep read access to everything; features gated to Plus or Pro become view-only until you upgrade.
Do I need a credit card to start?
No. Every new account receives a 14-day Family Plus trial the moment you sign up — no credit card required. Payment details are only asked for when you choose to upgrade.
What does 'Proof of Care' mean?
Proof of Care is a tamper-proof, timestamped report of every care activity in your circle — tasks completed, medications given, appointments attended, journal entries logged, and more. It is generated as a PDF suitable for insurance claims, legal proceedings, and family accountability. Free accounts can export the last 30 days; Plus and Pro have full-history export.
Can I switch plans at any time?
Yes. Upgrade or downgrade anytime from your Account settings. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep access until then.
What is 'geofenced check-in'?
When a caregiver arrives at an appointment, they tap 'Verify Arrival' in the app. Care Maple verifies their GPS coordinates against the provider's geocoded address — giving families documented, timestamped proof of attendance. This is a Family Pro feature.
Is there annual billing?
Yes — pay annually and save: Family Plus is $199/yr (saves $100.88 vs monthly), Family Pro is $319/yr (saves $160.88 vs monthly). Annual billing locks in today's price for the full year.
Is my data secure?
Yes. Care Maple is hosted on Canadian infrastructure and operates under PIPEDA. All data is encrypted at rest and in transit. The audit trail is immutable — it cannot be edited or deleted by anyone, including our team.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
Your data is always yours. You can export your Proof of Care report at any time. If you cancel, your account reverts to the Free plan and all data remains accessible. We do not delete accounts or data on downgrade.
